Haven

Great holiday house. Thank you.

We return to The Haven again and again because it is very welcoming and ideally situated. The only criticisms we have is that there are a few things needing a little bit of attention at the moment. The fly-screens all could do with replacing and the bed in the first bedroom down the hallway really needs replacing. Apart from those things it would be five stars all the way and the house would be super comfortable. The newly refurbished front deck looks great!

The location was amazing! A very easy pleasant walk to Cylinder and the shop. Having the little park opposite was a real bonus with the kangaroos visiting on many occasions. The house was a bit old and tired but that was not a surprise. Everything worked though and the deck on the top floor was a real hit with the family. It caught the breeze on the really hot days and we spent most of our time out there! Ray White looked after us well, replenishing the tea towel with grace! We will come back! Thanks

The house was beautiful with books, board games and cards provided, and other island mementos such as seaside pictures and crafted mementos throughout the house. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and appliances. The bathroom was clean. The only suggestion I would make to the owner/s is to have ceiling fans or air con installed as it was hot sometimes even in April. Overall the feel of the house was well loved and comfortable. I think the family who lived there originally must have treasured living in Haven and living on Straddie - just a guess.

We have been returning to the Haven for the past 5 years now because it is so welcoming and in such a great location. It may not have all the mod cons but it sure makes up for that with it's great setting in a quiet street and close beach, shops and pub. We love the wildlife that comes to visit and the tranquil garden setting. The only gripe we have is that possibly the beds ( in the two up stairs bedrooms) are getting a little worn out and probably
need replacing. Especially, the one in the second bedroom.

We had planned to c as no in the 500 year storm so when we found reasonably priced Haven it came as a reliefs.
Not fancy but we loved it. Comfy and well positioned.

The Haven is an easy going beach house surrounded by lush green gardens. This was our fourth stay and we love it. We only took one star off (property's general condition) because the mattress in the first bedroom down the hallway really does need replacing.

I loved my stay at Haven. I felt that I had been trusted to share someone’s home, as all the paraphernalia that accumulates in a family home was entrusted to my care. Hence, I was happy to water the plants, rake the leaves and barrow them upwards, hang my washing to dry on the lines in the garage and, doing without air-con, enjoy the verandah breeze from the distantly visible ocean.

This was our second time staying at The Haven and we loved it all over again. The central location is terrific.
